How the Game Unfolded
Arsenal started brightly, pressing United from the beginning and creating early chances. Bukayo Saka tested Andre Onana, and a corner was cleared off the line. United had a chance when Thomas Partey was caught in possession, but Rasmus Hojlund slipped and failed to capitalize.
First half
Arsenal took the lead midway through the first half when Casemiro was caught out of position, allowing Kai Havertz to race down the right and deliver a low cross for Trossard to score. Ben White flashed a shot across the face of Onana’s goal, but United reached halftime without conceding another goal.
Second half
The second half lacked quality from both sides, with Declan Rice having a shot blocked and Martin Odegaard’s effort easily claimed by Onana. United struggled to create openings despite their territorial dominance, but Alejandro Garnacho went close when he finally found space to shoot.
