Michael Oliver claimed Man City bias after not giving a penalty for Jeremy Doku’s’reckless’ late challenge on Alexis Mac Allister, claiming that Liverpool had been “robbed.”
After Jeremy Doku just avoided a possible punishment for an irresponsible chest-high challenge to Alexis Mac Allister, social media went into a frenzy.
Doku’s late challenge on Mac Allister in injury time added drama to Liverpool’s thrilling 1-1 tie with Manchester City at Anfield. The video assistant referee cleared the incident after sharing referee Michael Oliver’s opinion that the foul should not have been called. People on social media, however, think the referee has aided City and that Liverpool ought to have been penalized for the play.

The Opinions of the Fans
Mark Goldbridge, a famous Manchester United supporter, appeared to think Liverpool were wronged when he exclaimed, “Unbelievable that at the end,” on X. Completely unable to speak. When Doku is on that pitch, he’s wildly irresponsible. Oh no! Liverpool have been plundered. Oliver is once again representing City…
Dido didn’t even make contact with the ball, according to @elfayz on X. “Liverpool got robbed, big time.”
“Jeremy Doku was really lucky to escape that one,” tweeted Liverpool supporter @JamesPearceLFC. Stuart Attwell takes center stage on VAR. I can’t help but wonder what would happen if he had sent the referee to the television earlier in the game for an event like that.
An X user named @LFCJ7 made fun of the verdict, writing: “they said Doku’s foot was in a’reasonable position’ ahahaha, and he doesn’t even touch the ball ”
“Mac Allister won the ball with his shoulder,” @FootballReprt on X remarked. I mean, seriously, you can’t make that challenge, even though Doku touched the ball! A penalty and a red card have been issued.
