Chelsea bid £73 million to acquire Gyokeres, while Arsenal join the fight to acquire Patterson.

Arsenal in bidding war for Patterson

There have been rumors that Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is looking to leave the club, and now Arsenal is in the hunt to sign him. The gifted goalkeeper will reportedly have three suitors, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City (HITC Football).

All three Premier League clubs are interested in signing 23-year-old Anthony Patterson, who Sunderland is ready to release. As Caoimhin Kelleher is scheduled to go at the conclusion of the season, Liverpool are supposedly interested in signing the goalkeeper to replace him. Whether they can now compete with Arsenal is an open question.

Gyokeres joins Chelsea after a £73 million deal

Chelsea reportedly made a massive offer to Sporting to acquire Viktor Gyokeres, according to Portuguese tabloids. The Swede has been absolutely sensational since his summer transfer from Coventry City. In just 24 games played, he has scored 20 goals and assisted on another 10. According to Record, a Portuguese news outlet, Chelsea has made a bid of £73 million, but Sporting would not sell the striker for less than his £87 million release clause.

The squint Phillips, Kalvin

According to sources, Tottenham is reportedly interested in Kalvin Phillips, a midfielder now on the outs with Manchester City. It has been reported in the Northern Echo that senior Spurs figures are ‘championing’ a move to acquire Phillips. Despite rumours linking him to both Newcastle and Man City, the north Londoners allegedly have already expressed interest in signing the midfielder. The England national team has used Phillips little thus far this season in the Premier League.

It is still unclear whether Giroud will stay with AC Milan.

According to Calciomercato, Olivier Giroud’s contract with AC Milan is slated to expire in June, leaving his future with the club unknown. Atlanta United and the Vancouver Whitecaps are among the Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs interested in the 37-year-old forward after he had an outstanding season with 10 goals and 6 assists in 17 appearances for Serie A. The forward’s possible transfer to Major League Soccer adds excitement, even though rumors indicate that AC Milan has the option to extend Giroud’s contract until 2025.
