The NCAA basketball star Haley Cavinder has a sizable online following of her own. She says she had a “mental breakdown” after her relationship with Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson brought her profile to a higher level.
“I consider myself a confident girl, but when people start talking trash about me online, it’s like, ‘This is new and obviously Jake is a great guy, but you don’t want to be called ugly on the internet 24/7 and your boyfriend sees it.'” she said during a recent Q&A on the Cavinder twins’ YouTube channel. “No one is going to feel cool about that.”
She had a “mental breakdown,” according to Haley, because of the things people were saying about her online.
As for her breakdown, she mentioned that it happened some time ago. “Honestly, I’m very confident and comfortable sharing my relationship because Jake was very loud about it.”
Naturally, Ferguson stood out this season as the star tight end for the most watched team in American sports. This year, Haley and Hanna Cavinder made headlines for their appearances to Cowboys games, when they cheered him on.
According to Haley, who will be a member of the TCU basketball team next season, “It made me feel very comfortable and confident sharing him as well.” He has been, and always will be, an important part of my life.
Accordingly, it is not something I will keep secret. When I attend a Cowboys game, he’ll be there, too.
