Two Manchester United players currently located in different countries were on the same page over one of their close pals.
Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho did not start a single game together for the Red Devils. Sancho was a substitute in Mount’s first two starts, before his self-imposed exile.
Now out on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho is finding his confidence again, while Mount is working his way back from an injury which kept him out for four months.
That’s not long in comparison to Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who has been out for 10 months with a torn ACL. Abraham is a close pal of both United players.
Mount and Sancho happy for Abraham
At the weekend Tammy Abraham made his return for Roma, as a substitute in their 1-0 win over bitter rivals Lazio.
He posted on social media at his relief to be making his comeback after 307 days out, a pretty swift return from a serious injury which has kept players out for longer than a year.
Mount and Sancho both sent messages to the striker. The former played alongside him at Chelsea, while Sancho has done so in the past for England.
Mount wrote ‘Love to see it!’, while Sancho added: “Good to see you back.”
Abraham scored 36 goals for Roma across two seasons prior to his injury.
Tammy Abraham was linked to Manchester United prior to his injury
Prior to his injury last May, the Roma forward was being linked with a move to Manchester United.
Calciomercato had reported United had sent scouts to watch him in action, with United exploring striker options. The club moved to sign Rasmus Hojlund, judging Harry Kane to be too expensive.
United are still looking for another striker this summer, but it’s doubtful 26-year-old Abraham will figure into the mix again, so soon after his injury, unless there is a real discount applied.
If there is a prospect of a move, no doubt Mount would be thrilled to be reunited with him.
