No Team will Challenge Manchester United, When I’m done building the club – Eric Ten Hag claims (Watch)

Rashford started on the bench in the next game against Wolves but came on to score the winner, with Ten Hag delighted with his response to the disciplinary action he took.

However, this time it was the United gaffer who failed to live up to his own high standards as he was late to his own press conference ahead of the clash against Leeds.

Ten Hag kicked off his presser with an apology and an explanation for his lateness.

He said: “I want to apologise [that] I am late.

“I had to do a procedure for the visa and there was a technical problem, so that’s why I’m late.”

A reporter jokingly asked whether he would be handed a fine as a result, with the United boss casting a smile before replying: “Fine? No, it’s not a fine.

“(Laughing) I could do nothing about it.

“That’s why [visa]. So it was important… No, no [is it not a story], it was a technical problem.”

United face Leeds on Wednesday in the first of a doubleheader against their rivals.

But while Ten Hag was all smiles in his press conference, the situation surrounding his thinning squad is no laughing matter.

Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Antony have all been added to the list of unavailable talent at Old Trafford.

Casemiro will be serving the first game of a three-match domestic ban after United decided not to appeal the red card he received against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are long-term absentees, with the former’s injury leading to the club bringing in Marcel Sabitzer on loan on deadline day.
