Thierry Henry was less than pleased with Martin Odegaard’s performance in the 1-0 defeat (3-2 aggregate) loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final.
The Arsenal legend was unhappy about the team performance on the whole but singled out Odegaard for criticism.
Disappointed with the captain’s performance, Henry said on CBS Sports: “Odegaard here is going to have a strike from outside of the box. Nothing in it, really. [Manuel] Neuer controlled it.
“Then [Gabriel] Martinelli from the cross. Odegaard’s not so much in the game. We have seen in one game two teams trying to win it.
“Here two teams trying not to lose it. It’s weird, the fear of losing.”
Henry continued: “No one [from Arsenal] wanted the ball. It was kind of weird. Everyone is kind of hiding and not wanting that ball.”
