“Very Big question for him” – Pochettino on what Mudryk needs to do to get run of games.(Continue Reading)

Mauricio Pochettino has stated that, rather than asking himself, Mykhailo Mudryk is the one to ask about the winger’s chances of starting more often for current Chelsea squad.

After arriving at Chelsea more than a year ago, Mudryk’s performance has been uneven at best and wildly inconsistent at worst. Even while he has shown glimpses of what it means to be a quality player, he hasn’t done enough to warrant serious consideration just yet.

Last night, following Chelsea’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, a reporter asked Pochettino about the possibility that Mudryk has not been given enough chances to demonstrate his abilities by way of regular starts or a run in the team.

The manager’s reaction was an acknowledgment of the goal’s greatness. “It was a very good goal, he scored a really good goal and that is what we expect from a player that came from the bench—an impact,” he remarked. The next step is to prove himself worthy of playing by competing with other players in his position. He seems to be more concerned about this than I am.
