Manchester City were fortunate to get away without conceding a penalty in their 1-0 win over Chelsea after Cole Palmer’s free-kick struck Jack Grealish’s outstretched arm in the wall.
VAR checked the incident and the replays showed a clear change in the ball’s trajectory after it made contact with Grealish’s arm.
Mauricio Pochettino was asked about his view on the incident and said it was a penalty in his view.
“From the touchline, it was difficult to see if it was a penalty,” said the Chelsea boss in his press conference.
“I was talking [to the referee] because after Jesus [Perez] and my staff said it was a penalty. I only said to him, ‘Why not go and check the penalty on the TV?’.
“I think from what I saw [it was a penalty], but move on.”
